Flaggschiff kicked off AB Syndrom's rise to broader recognition in 2017, giving the band their first radio airplay and, by now, more than 2.5 million streams on Spotify. The Berlin-based musicians have gone fully DIY from the start, and they polarize. That means everything, from the entire music production to the artwork to the music videos, is produced entirely in-house and released on their own self-founded indie label. And that consistency is something you can hear and feel. Unfamiliar electronic sounds and intricate beats form the foundation for the poetry woven into them. Bennet's extremely personal and autobiographical lyrics offer a deep look into his inner life. Through striking vocal distortion and lyrical abstraction, the songs retain room for listeners' own interpretations despite their subjectivity. This focus on the personal also defines AB Syndrom's live shows. On stage, it's just Anton's pad-equipped drum kit and a keyboard, with which the duo adapts the album's electronic sound for live performance. Everything is created in the moment: no backing tracks, no lifeless show synced to a pre-made tape. Since Flaggschiff, the band has been through an intense period: in 2019, touring with Mine through Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, followed shortly after by shows in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Manila. In 2020, the Frontalcrash album release happened during the Covid lockdown, followed by streaming concerts including ones for DLF Nova and c/o pop, staged out of a massive former power plant. In 2022 came the post-Covid restart: with the album Tut mir gut Tut mir Leid they landed radio airplay nationwide and, in winter 2022–23, went on their first headline tour through 7 cities, including a live concert for radioeins. In 2024/25, AB Syndrom achieved nationwide rotation with the album Implosion and features with Trille, Roger Reckless, Futurebae, and Mine, played to 2,500 people at Fusion Festival, appeared at RadioEins Parkfest, and followed up with a German tour through 9 cities. With this, AB Syndrom have established themselves as a fusion of experimental electronic sounds and ultra-personal German lyrics. In fall 2026, they're heading out on tour with their new album.

Den Startschuss für eine größere Bekanntheit von AB Syndrom setzte 2017 der Song Flaggschiff, mit dem die Band ihr erstes Radio Airplay und mittlerweile mehr als 2,5 Millionen Streams auf Spotify erreichte. Die Berliner Musiker fahren von Anfang an komplett DIY und polarisieren. Das heißt von der gesamten Musikproduktion, über Artwork bis hin zu den Musikvideos wird alles konsequent in Eigenregie produziert und auf dem selbstgegründeten Indie-Label veröffentlicht. Und diese Konsequenz ist hör- und spürbar. Ungewohnte elektronische Sounds und vertrackte Beats bilden die Grundlage für die darin verwobene Poesie. Bennets extrem persönliche und autobiografische Texte bieten tiefen Einblick ins Seelenleben. Durch auffällige Stimmverfremdung und lyrische Abstraktion erhalten die Songs trotz aller Subjektivität Freiraum für eigene Bezüge. Der Fokus auf das Persönliche prägt auch die Live Shows von AB Syndrom. Auf der Bühne steht nur Antons, mit Pads versehenes Drumset und ein Keyboard, mit denen das Duo den elektronischen Sound des Albums für die Bühne adaptiert. Dabei wird alles im Moment erzeugt: Keine Backing-Tracks, keine leblose Show zum vorgefertigten Tape. Seit Flaggschiff liegt eine intensive Zeit hinter der Band: 2019 mit Mine auf Tour durch Deutschland, die Schweiz und Österreich, kurz danach Konzerte in Vietnam, Hongkong und Manila. 2020 Frontalcrash Album Release im Corona-Lockdown und anschließend Streaming-Konzerte unter anderem bei DLF Nova und c/o pop aus einem riesigen ehemaligen Heizkraftwerk. 2022 dann post-Corona Restart: mit dem Album Tut mir gut Tut mir Leid erzeugten sie deutschlandweit Radio Airplay und gingen im Winter 2022-23 auf erste Headliner-Tour durch 7 Städte—inklusive Live-Konzert bei radioeins. 2024/25 erreichten AB Syndrom mit dem Album Implosion und Features mit Trille, Roger Reckless, Futurebae und Mine deutschlandweite Rotationen und spielten auf dem Fusion Festival vor 2500 Menschen, beim RadioEins Parkfest und auf ihrer anschließenden Deutschlandtour durch 9 Städte. AB Syndrom haben sich damit als Verschmelzer von experimentellen elektronischen Sounds und ultrapersönlichen, deutschen Texten etabliert. Im Herbst 2026 kommen sie mit ihrem neuen Album auf Tour.
