AB SYNDROM

The starting signal for greater recognition of AB Syndrom was fired in 2017 with the song Flaggschiff, which earned the band their first radio airplay and has since surpassed 2.5 million streams on Spotify. From the very beginning, the Berlin-based musicians have operated completely DIY—and polarizing. This means that everything, from music production and artwork to music videos, is produced independently and released on their self-founded indie label. And this consistency is clearly audible and tangible. Unconventional electronic sounds and intricate beats form the foundation for the poetry woven into them. Bennet’s extremely personal and autobiographical lyrics offer deep insight into his inner world. Through striking vocal manipulation and lyrical abstraction, the songs retain space for individual interpretation despite their subjectivity. This focus on the personal also defines AB Syndrom’s live shows. On stage, there is only Anton’s pad-equipped drum kit and a keyboard, which the duo use to adapt the album’s electronic sound for a live setting. Everything is created in the moment: no backing tracks, no lifeless show to a pre-recorded tape. Since Flaggschiff, the band has experienced an intense period: in 2019 they toured Germany, Switzerland, and Austria with Mine, followed shortly by concerts in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Manila. In 2020, the album Frontalcrash was released during the COVID lockdown, followed by streamed concerts, including for DLF Nova and c/o pop, broadcast from a massive former power plant. In 2022 came the post-COVID restart: with the album Tut mir gut Tut mir Leid, they received nationwide radio airplay and embarked on their first headline tour across seven cities in winter 2022–23— including a live concert on radioeins. In 2024/25, AB Syndrom achieved nationwide radio rotation with the album Implosion and features with Trille, Roger Reckless, Futurebae, and Mine. They played the Fusion Festival in front of 2,500 people, the radioeins Parkfest, and a subsequent Germany tour spanning nine cities. AB Syndrom have thus established themselves as a fusion of experimental electronic sounds and ultra-personal German-language lyrics. In autumn 2026, they will tour with their new album.

Seit Flaggschiff liegt eine intensive Zeit hinter der Band: 2019 mit Mine auf Tour durch Deutschland, die Schweiz und Österreich, kurz danach Konzerte in Vietnam, Hongkong und Manila. 2020 Frontalcrash Album Release im Corona-Lockdown und anschließend Streaming-Konzerte unter anderem bei DLF Nova und c/o pop aus einem riesigen ehemaligen Heizkraftwerk. 2022 dann post-Corona Restart: mit dem Album Tut mir gut Tut mir Leid erzeugten sie deutschlandweit Radio Airplay und gingen im Winter 2022-23 auf erste Headliner-Tour durch 7 Städte—inklusive Live-Konzert bei radioeins. 2024/25 erreichten AB Syndrom mit dem Album Implosion und Features mit Trille, Roger Reckless, Futurebae und Mine deutschlandweite Rotationen und spielten auf dem Fusion Festival vor 2500 Menschen, beim RadioEins Parkfest und auf ihrer anschließenden Deutschlandtour durch 9 Städte. AB Syndrom haben sich damit als Verschmelzer von experimentellen elektronischen Sounds und ultrapersönlichen, deutschen Texten etabliert. Im Herbst 2026 kommen sie mit ihrem neuen Album auf Tour.
